Trying to be useful in the midst of grieving and d Trying to be useful in the midst of grieving and dealing with the CoronaVirus. I took a chance and it paid off. I am really proud of what this young Haitian creator Jimmy Regis, has been able to do in four months, with the small financial investment he received from the #1804BOSS contest in January.
He is now a legitimate business in Haiti. I was able to help him connect with someone to help him legally register the business. And, in addition to creating his own product (chanmchanm), he is also delivering food with his mobile market business to people and restaurants that he gets in bulk from farmers and Madam Sara merchants. He's also using some of the money to create marketing materials to promote his business.
What I appreciate the most about him is that he is independent, but he also listens to input.
I made a suggestion that he creates a social media page for the business on several social media channels and he has done it and is getting some tractions. I can’t wait to tell more stories like this. This is what we mean when we say, tangible changes must be made by Haitians who are emotionally, socially, and economically invested in the country’s future. #agriculture #business #Haiti #Haitiandiaspora #thefutureisbright #wecannotwaitonforeigners to help our fellow citizens. @regis.jimmy23

#3. The third winner for #1804BOSS contest is Even #3. The third winner for #1804BOSS contest is Evens Belizaire. He runs a small business in the solar panel and energy sector. He is really smart in defying the odds in Haiti. What he does is buy batteries and panels in the Dominican Republic, and transport them to Haiti. He then solicits homes in Haiti that are interested in getting access to electricity. And he closes on the sales. He also trains university students to help him with the business. Imagine if we can identify 20,000 potential small individual businesses like this to invest in directly? The next decade will be different. #bottomuprevolution #renewal #energy #investdirectlyinpeople #Haiti #1804BOSS.
